Step 1- -We suggest you paint the ceiling also.If you are going to design a theme room for your child you might as well go all out.By painting the ceiling it makes it feel like the sky and the theme is completely carried throughout the whole room.It makes the room caozy and welcoming. -Paint ceiling and walls 3/4 of the way down. -Let dry overnight. |
Step 2- -Using chalk draw a downward slope starting from right hand corner of wall approximately 4 1/2 feet up wall & draw a softly flowing downward line toward the left hand corner of the wall. -If you don't like the look thats fine just use a damp sponge & wash it off and redraw. -Continue drawing foreground sloping hills in chalk on all the walls. |
Step 3- -Using chalk at approximately 5 1/2 feet on left hand side of wall draw a down ward flowing line that ends near the middle of the wall. -Continue drawing background sloping hills with chalk on all walls.
-Don't worry if your lines are not exactly the same as the directions. This is your child's room. Have some fun! Remeber it's only chalk. |
Step 4-
-After all the chalk lines are drawn start painting the light green background. Using the 2" bristle angle brush & small paint tray follow the chalk lines on top. Then go back and fill in background area. -Remeber the chalk line is just a guide. -Continue painting the light green background color over entire room. -Clean out 2" bristle brush when done to get ready for the middle green paint color. |
Step 5- -Using 2" bristle angle brush start painting using the middle green paint color. -Start by using the angle of the brush to paint the outline of the foreground middle green hills. -After the outline is painted it might be easier to use the paint roller to fill in the large middle green area's. -Finish painting the rest of the middle green area's on the rest of the walls.
Step 6- -AFTER PAINT HAS DRIES ATLEAST 1 WEEK ! -You must give the paint time to fully cure. The painted wall may feel dry to the touch, however moisture from the paint is still evaporating from the paint & it interacts with the mural/wall stickers/ mural piece's adhesive and they will not stick until the paint is full cured. If you should happen to adhere the mural/ wall stickers/ mural piece's and the y should become lose or fall off.It is fine. Just place them back onto the backing and wait a week & reapply. -Using the above photo & suggested layout as a guide start to apply wall stickers / mural pieces to your child's walls. -Start with the background pieces because the front one's will be placed on top.
